IMHO the problem is that the cat is effectively out of the Pandora's box is open. Once Nike got away with it....it set precedent. And now anyone can get away with it. For me personally I am not a fan of any of these super shoes being allowed in international especially the Olympics as they seem to boost an athletes performance. But since the Nike Vaporflys were ruled legal it set precedent. And now most runners will use them in international competition. Also, as you said there is a conflict of interest between the shoe brands and the sports governing bodies. And money seems to be the priority.

Hey Bro! They're mad because the winning asics shoe of Sarah Hall would mean millions in nike opportunity sales losses. Remember Bro, Nike started the ueven playing field....the mechanical doping in the guise of energy return.

They are mad because an American took second! The shoes can't be so superior that she was cheating. The other could have asked the company for a pair to test themselves.

Since Asics is doing a Nike, some fan boys are up in arms . Funny how things turn sour when the tables are turned, and are more childish because of attacking the brand, they attack the sponsored athlete .

They're likely the same material as the Vaporflys, PEBA and carbon fiber. If they release them more widely in a few months, should this still cause concern?

I think this violates rules 5.2, 5.2.1., and 5.2.2. And World Athletics should clarify why these shoes do not violate these rules. Because as of now everything I have read on Ms Hall since the marathon is about her shoes. Just me....
