BJP Emerges Victorious in BBMP Polls with 99 Seats

BJP emerged victorious on Tuesday in Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections by winning in 99 seats . The Congress has bagged 75 seats. The Janata Dal (S) bagged 14 seats while the others won in eight seats.
Congress party accepting its defeat said the people have not accepted their proposals despite the BJP’s misrule.
“After five-year of misrule of the BJP, people of the city have pardoned them and voted for them and we have accepted that mandate,” said Karnataka Congress president G. Parmeshwar.
“Whatever we thought that we will develop Bengaluru and will improve it has not been accepted by the people of Bengaluru,” he added.
Parmeshwar, however, said that it would not be possible at this point of time to disclose the reasons for the Congress’ dismal show.
