Oh boy things are about to get really complicated, really quick...

In AoE4, the Chinese are all about managing to utilize the numerous tools at your disposal. You have the most unique units, an entire dynasty mechanic to go alongside your advancement through the ages, and can even build all 6 of your landmarks in a single game. There is a lot to consider, but it can really pay off with a deadly late game.

Just for the reference, chu ko nu is cantonese pronunication, which is understandable back when aoe2 came out 20 years ago, most chinese living in NA were from cantonese-speaking regions.

On the other hand, zhu ge nu is standarized mandarin pronunication used in mainland.

Also 12:21 I love ornlu trying to squeeze out the phrase "area damage" as if this is some sacrilegious concept in an aoe game

I played Chinese during the stress test, and I found that the fire lancer is really good at hit and run vs slow units. Reason being, you hit the units and deal splash damage, then run and hit again, causing whole clumps of army to die all at once.

Weird that the Yuan Dynasty unlocks the Fire Lancer. As the Yuan Dynasty is when China was occupied by the Mongol Empire; but China had already been using Fire Lancers for several centuries before then. Meanwhile grenades WAS something the Mongols introduced into the Chinese military.

Just as you say "and lastly..." there's apparently an unique tech above called "Ancient technique" that you didn't mention 11

I believe you can skip dynasties or even do it like Ming-Song-Yuan as long as you build landmarks in that order?

One small thing bothered me is that i have never seen a octagonal stone tower in Chinese history and as far as i know they didn't use it. if you look at historical photos of major cities in china such as the beijing wall(gone) nanjing wall and xian city(full wall surrounding the old city) their tower all have a square base and its just odd they didnt change that

Tbh i really dont like the idea of zhu ge nu as a specialized Song dynasty unit since due to the lack of horses in the Song dynasty powerful crossbows are developed against nomadic cavalry and Song dynasty military is famous for their heavy armored foot soldier and powerful crossbows. And zhu ge nu is opposite to that

Yeah. I don't know why Chinese started at 907. Because in 907, Tang dynasty has collapsed. lol

So ... Everything from the Chinese is short-range / great against groups and slightly less tanky ? Looks like they're going to suck super hard against powerful ranged civs like the brits no ?

Chinese faction has a lot of unique units but most of their uu aren't all that better than their counterpart units. Most of this UU are just slightly better or offer some extra advantage.
I think some of these uu needs to be boasted up a little bit so that they can be worth more.

when even the person making the YT video, someone as meticulous as Ornlu, is making inadvertent errors, you know something is up with this civ 11
Edit: I shouldn't say "making inadvertent errors"! I meant "inadvertently missing things" ;) sorry!
