Please Subscribe, Like, Comments & Share My Videos / YouTube Channel "Education with Shahzad" General Provident Fund GP Fund Advances/Transfer of Balance Cases and Final Payment All government servants in permanent, temporary, or officiating service (including probationary service) irrespective of the class to which they belong, whose conditions of service the provident is competent to determine, is eligible to join the General Provident Fund. Subscribers to the fund are required to initiate to the accounts office the nomination conferring on one or more persons the right to receive the amount at his credit in the fund in case of his death before serving the amount. The government pays interest at a rate announced on annual basis to the credit of the amount of a subscriber every year. A temporary/permanent advance can be granted to the subscriber from the amount outstanding to his/her credit in the Fund subject to certain conditions as stipulated in the General Provident Fund Rules, 1978. On the eve of final payment, Zakat @2.5% of the balance standing to the credit of the subscriber is deducted on the valuation date i.e 1st Ramzan in the light of Zakat and Ushr Ordinance, 1980.
