Generator Shock Load Test. Instantaneous Load Acceptance and Rejection.

Generator load test is doing to check its operational capabilities. In this video presents sudden load acceptance and rejection test with 75% load.
When we apply sudden load to the generator it need to regulate its parameters steady without any large up and downs otherwise generator turns off by its safety and protection system.

Many modern high speed gensets can’t take a big load drop. I miss the days of the older medium speed machines that could swallow 110% without even blinking. Just too expensive these days so we end up with small units highly stressed that lack the required momentum to pick up big loads

Estos enormes generadores están conectados a un banco de resistencias que le ofrecen una carga ficticia estos mismos bancos poseen muchas resistencias internas de distintos valores los cuales los recién al motor una gran carga mecánica por eso se ve la gran humareda debido aquí la carga resistiva lees para el generador una cupla frenante que el motor tiene que vencer y por ello la humareda

Ooo something does not seem right with the engine.... Exhaust flaps are pinned right back with no load and looks normal, as soon as you apply load those start to flutter and the exhaust appears to be puffing out blasts of black smoke....Almost appears like one or more cylinders are not firing OR have an injector / fueling issue. That would explain why the unit seems to want to fall on its face and have trouble recovering when you load it like that...

75% block load test? A properly designed generator should accept 100% block load and 100% load rejection. Too many “Standby” and “Emergency” generators are under powered and cannot pass a 100% block load test without excessive frequency drop.
