Thomas Sowell is an American economist and political commentator. He taught economics at Cornell University, the University of California, Los Angeles, and since 1980 at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, where he is currently a Senior Fellow.

God, I do love Dr. Thomas Sowell. I'm 74 years old and when I grow up, I want to be just like him.

There is going to be another wonderful case study of this in New Zealand. A current labour government centralising all power and decision making to the capital, the politicians and bureaucrats, versus a previous Labour government which in 1984 deregulated the NZ economy which lead to a 30 year period of great development.
I have a very good idea how the current actions are going to pan out.

I did a finals on the Great Depression and how the government intervention not only made the situation worse but prolonged it. I thought with my research into it it would solidify my thoughts, at the time, on FDR but it got me to change my mind. Needless to say, I failed.
