at 10:17, you state that
a(b + c) = ab + ac
which is correct, however,  in the line below you state that
(b + c)a = ba + bc
this is wrong

these two are exactly the same, such that
a(b + c) = (b + c) a
I am not sure this is a typo, or whether you mean to write it as
a + (b + c) 
which would have been correct

it does not make a difference whether the constant or variable 'a' is placed before or after the brackets, the rule for multiplying it out stays exactly the same

pick three random numbers for a, b and c and evaluate the result for 
(b + c)a 
and then for
ba + bc
you will observe two different numbers.
see example below

using 
a = 5,  
b = 3,
c = 4

apply to (b + c)a gives
(3 + 4)5 = 35
apply to ba + bc gives
3 * 5 + 3 * 4 = 27 
you get 
35 = 27 using your original (b + c)a = ba + bc
which is incorrect. 

be wary, and update your slides. this is very misleading and confusing at such a fundamental level
