Microsoft Chicago Build 73 Install Tutorial

Some stuff that can fix the kernel error thing in VMWare:
- Play arround with the ram amount, for me setting from 64 to 32mb solved.
- Change Compatibility support from Windows 95 to anything, boot, then change back on
to Windows 95.
- Use a different boot disk.

After the boot animation it just displays a blinking "_". I followed all the steps. Anyone know how to fix this? I'm using VMware Player 16 btw.

I was using a different ISO image when I got the error (Build 78). I installed the ISO from this video and tried again and It worked!! Thanks!!

If i start it i get the Chicago Boot secreen but then just a blinking _

Wow it actually worked for me this time. Though i used the windows95a.img from the url you provided. Until i restarted it and removed the boot disk, it logged in and said something about cab32 error, i restarted again and now it says "KERNEL: Inadequate DMPI server" I'm running VMWare 15.1.0.

It said it couldn't load cab32 and then stayed blank on the 'under contruction' walpaper with no start menu or anything

I think mine just freezed... im in vmware workstation 9 and i followed your instrouctions now this happend it freezed the vmware but the mouse still moves..

When ever i do it, it will go into chicago but when it loads, there is nothing there and you can only click twice for the task manager. i can never get it to work. :(

its not booting i did get the setup screen and it did say it was installing the stuffs and then i got a black screen with a single _ im using virtualbox btw it should have the same result

It's mine, Microsoft. I bought and own the media that it is stored on. I will do whatever I want with this software, because unless you make me agree to the EULA before I pay for the media, it is my software on my media and I will do whatever I want with it.
