Here is my quick tip to get Kit island:
1)Hop to a server which is about to have full moon
2)TP to tiki and sail to sea level 6
2.5)If u encounter Terror shark and you don't have Portal or you cannot protect your boat then go back to step 1).
3)When at sea danger level 6 and dont have any sea event active, get far away from your boat.
4)When the sun is or is about to touch the horizon, go back to your boat(u don't need to sail it)
If the island did not spawn then somebody got step 2 faster than you.

Tip:if you want to skip terror sharks also take a portal user and when it spawns use dimensional rift it will take all players in there but not the terror shark so when you will come out it will be gone

Today my brother and I went on a mirage hunt so we could find him a gear. Then I remembered that I found the mirage when I swam back to Tiki and suggested we swim from difficulty 2 to 4 in a circle. The result? We swam for a long time, then another player started swimming with us, and after a while we found the mirage and the gear. Moral, don't watch other people's methods, make up your own, remember how you first found the mirage, and act like you did before
