World leaders took turns speaking at the opening of the United Nations General Assembly’s 75th anniversary session in New York. In a pre-recorded speech, Chinese President Xi Jinping called for global cooperation on Covid-19 on September 22, 2020, while US President Donald Trump told the high-level gathering that the world should hold Beijing “accountable” for the Covid-19 pandemic. But other world leaders called for a more cooperative effort to combat the coronavirus, and unity in the face of growing divisions

To be honest, the US and many other countries should follow what China did to fight the virus, I've heard that they have had no local cases and that they have only had cases from other countries etc. China may not do well in some things, but they fought the virus extremely well.

The coronavirus is a very serious subject and I think it’s impossible not to politicise it to some degree (it’s literally the political leaders talking about this here) but I do think Trump isn’t helping his case here. I agree there’s a lot that China should be held to account for, including their role in covering up the virus for the crucial first few weeks but I don’t believe this is the right way to go about it and I think finding a vaccination and protecting people’s lives is the far more pressing concern
