India's Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Apulia, Italy, for the G7 Summit. This marks his first international trip in his third term. According to Randhir Jaiswal, spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs, PM Modi is scheduled to attend several bilateral meetings. Earlier, it was announced that PM Modi will hold a meeting with his Italian counterpart, Giorgia Meloni. Meanwhile, US officials have said that President Joe Biden also expects to meet with the Indian PM. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will attend the G7 Summit's outreach session, focusing on key issues like AI, energy, and Africa. Meanwhile, the discourse in this G7 Summit is dominated by the ongoing Ukraine war. The US has signed a security pact with Ukraine, and G7 leaders have agreed on a $50 billion loan package for Ukraine, secured with frozen Russian assets in the EU. Biden says that support and sanctions against Russia will show President Vladimir Putin that “he cannot wait us out. He cannot divide us.”
