Etro Heliotrope Review

Cool review mate. Heliotrope is a fantastic note and is a plant/flower that is seen in all over the UK in summer, people just don't realize what it is.

Really interesting! I was talking about this one yesterday :-) I still haven't tried it but might give it a miss for now as it doesn't quite seem my taste. I really want to start digging deeper into vanilla/heliotrope/almond though.
But yes Pi! I love my old bottle, I wear it at the start of spring into summer it's a great fragrance for the price.

Can't seem to find the video in which you mentioned "Hungry Hungry Hippies" and the fact that (at the time) it was your wife's favourite fragrance. Well, I decided to try it. When it came and I put my nose to it I thought "what have I done and What the hell was BetawiBlood thinking?; my wife had a similar reaction. Low and behold the dry down was quite nice. Since this initial reaction she's wearing it quite a bit and she's taken to blending it with Serge Lutens the scents are wonderful. Thanks for the heads up on this line. I never would have tried it on my own. Again, lovely videos...they're both informative and easy to watch.

Wearing this now. Nice! first thought is cardamom and marzipan, but much different from anything I'm used to. Very dry. Surprisingly unisex vibe to me.
Speaking of performance my favorite etro so far is the patchouly EDT (EDP is much different more of a chocolate patchouly whereas the EDT is greener), sadly that one is very mild.

The way you describe this reminds me of Helmut Lang Cologne which I just picked up. Almond-milkshave aftershave...lol....same vibe. Have you tried HLC?

Hey Kristo, I own Etro Ambra and Gomma and get 6-8 hours longevity from both. They are leather and Amber scents. Cheers Claus

Nice, informative review, thank you. I have tried some Etros in the past and really loved their use of flashing topnotes (like in Paisley, Messe de Menuit or Gomma). I have a sample of Etros Heliotrope somewhere, guess I will give it a go soon.

I have a sample of Sandalwood by Etro. It is a disappointment as far as doing justice to the Sandalwood note is concerned. I was in the process of finding the Crèmé De La Crèmè of sandalwood scents and I found it, Dries Van Noten.
