The 90 year old Motorcycle Maker is on it's last legs, will it survive 2025?

KTM are one of the best known and well loved motorcycle companies in the world, with it being the largest one in Europe. But unfortunately that doesn't stop it from suffering just like a lot of other large companies in today's day and age and the latest company news does not look good.

Join me for a quick video explaining the company's history and current situation.

Charging premium prices for bikes with known reliability issues, and then refusing warranty claims for those issues, leaves a bad taste in the mouths of buyers. They'd have to REALLY turn things around before there will be another KTM in my garage. I don't faith in the brand right now.

I'm just gonna say it; any manufacturer that switches off your bike's hardware AFTER you've already bought the bike deserves to fail. So long, KTM. You brought this on yourselves.

Disrespect and take advantage of your customers and find out...KTM found out 😂

Ktm

Bought a 1290 sas 2023, never going to buy KTM ever again, abs pump issue causing panic brake randomly, started to have coolant lost 250ml in 4 days and counting, paint peeling everywhere on the clutch bracket and reservoir, battery drain issue, between 50-80km the steering will wobble uncontrollably, if you let go and will also go right instead of straight. There was also a chemical / electrical smell when starting in the garage, the wireless key even in the bike compartment kept being out of range . KTM dealer said everything was "normal" . The adaptive cruise control took them a month to fix . I traded it and never looking back, lost thousands but that was better then keeping it. Dangerous bike. Believe everything you see in forums about KTM, it’s not exaggerated. Extremely unreliable!

2 reasons I'll never buy a ktm
1) dog shit reliability
2) the fact they hide things like quick shifter functions behind a paywall AFTER the first like a DLC package in VIDEO games.... that's dirty and fuck them for doing it

Quality control issues which were ignored in a competitive market

KTM should have just stuck with their bread and butter - 690cc and down dirt bikes and dual sports. Our local KTM dealer had to go out of business about 5 years ago because KTM insisted on their stocking all sorts of brutally expensive, extra-large displacement adventure and road bikes that he couldn't sell nor afford to keep.

Just bought a '25 Honda CRF450RX. Amazing machine. Typical Honda lower finish quality as far as aesthetics go. For example the welds aren't the prettiest and the triple clamps aren't cool looking machined parts. But Honda's are more robust than any European bikes. Compare a CRF subframe to any KTM dirt bike. I am not a brand guy at all. But after working for 25 years as a powersports mechanic on all brands, I'm sticking with Japanese brands and especially Honda.

I've owned 4 KTMs in the past decade, but the purchase price, obscene cost of ownership and recent serious quality issues have driven me away. This once premium motorcycle brand has been devalued. In my opinion the damage is done, the situation is dire and there's no way back from here.

The pricing of KTM spares is off the planet.

Any bike maker that doesnt make everyday commuter bikes is destined to fail. Today KTM, tomorrow Harley and BMW. The weekend rider pool is shrinking.

When you treat your customers like crap this is what happens.

Covid has nothing to do with this.

The camshaft issue is what caused this.

I have the 2023 RC390. It's my 3RD KTM. This is a reasonably priced, high performance bike that has taken advantage of the international RC CUP SERIES, to develop a reliable, high performance machine! I love it! Since riding 2 KTMs to 1st place finishes in AMA district 18 for 2 seasons, to carving canyons in my retirement...KTM IS FOR RACERS!...KTM ROCKS!

A slight issue i have is motorcycle youtubers claiming ktms are brilliant, you test ride for a week and have no idea about long term ussage!

I hope they come back. But please remove the whole TECH - PACK thing. Sell a fully functioning bike honestly.

So I just bought a brand new KTM 1290 R Evo super Duke. I was lucky the dealership gave me a deal on the tech pack but now I'm worried about parts and service because of what's going on.

I was a big KTM fanboy until they came out with the SUBSCRIPTION for rider modes. Modes that were already installed on the bike! The idea pissed me off, and I dropped the brand entirely. I am, however, enjoying my Berlin-built BMW with all of its rider aids included.

The restructuring process is meant to make things better, not to close the business. Cheer up. They won't go bust

Spread themselves too thin buying up Husqvarna, Husaberg, gasgas, that were all competitors to their own bikes.
