Billy Joel Messes Up We Didn't Start The Fire @ The ACC

I loved this moment so much! I am just glad that I captured it at the concert tonight. And I couldn't agree more with what Billy said.

I saw him a few years back and I've never laughed so hard during a concert in my life, though Garth Brooks is up there with humor. Billy Joel is a riot and a great show.

I was at the show and I loved this moment. This is the kinda stuff I love at shows, such a real moment and Billy was hilarious. I see many concerts every year, but nobody can entertain a crowd like him.

He messed up midway through Rootbeer Rag in Louisville, Ky about a month after this show– it was my first Billy Joel concert and I'm so glad I was there for it haha

Actually it was a technical difficulty. He is using a computer monitor in front of him to help him with the lyrics.  They were located on the ground at several places on the stage.  There is also a monitor/screen in his piano.  He has been using them for years.  Some of the fans in the first row were leaning onto the stage and one of them accidentally unplugged the one he was reading just to his right.  That is when you see him grab the mike and try to make it to the other monitor so he can read the lyrics there.  The only problem is that one went out as well and he could not read it there either.  That is why he then started mumbling the words. The tech guy you see appear from behind and bends down just to the left of the screen eventually plugs the monitor back in.  Once he plugged the one in front of him the others came to life too. It is that simple! .... LOL.

I've been to a couple gigs where the artist has fucked up their lyrics but none of them made a joke out of it quite like he does. It's these personal touches which make real musicians such a pleasure to see.

No tape for Billy Joel.  He tries to sing it still even at 64.  Not bad for this day and age when others sing with a tape. Found out recently he really does not like this song all that much but it was a hit and the fans love it - so he still tries to sing it and play it.

Not a producer or artist.
However listen to much music videos, (live&studio).
Best live performances would suggest use very strong back up singers.
*Usually women
*Powerful voices...
