Why You Shouldn't Farm Relics Until TL 50...

I think once you hit 40, you should farm a little relics, but not a ton. Just enough to get the right mainstat gear on your chest and some boots. Doesn’t even have to be all gold. But then from 40 (which is where I feel the grind of the game starts to kick in) to 49, you actually want to farm XP, lightcone books, and credits with any “extra” daily energy you have left. People hear that those cap out at 50 so they think that’s the better time to farm those, but actually mathematically, you get a bigger jump in Trace Materials at 50 than you do the capped out Golden Calyxs.

So TL;DR: you want to get a decent set of relic gear at 40, then farm XP, lightcone, credits at 40, farm Trace materials at 50, and farm relics at 60 (when it’s double gold guaranteed).

Given the staggering amount of materials it takes to ascend, level up your character, level up traces, and level up your light cone, I don't plan to farm relics even in TB50. I plan to raise up most of my units which is basically all of my energy every day all the way to TB60. Like Genshin Impact, I feel like relic farming can wait till your character starts approaching max level. I've unlocked memory of chaos but I'm not pushing it until I have some solid teams so YMMV.

u guys can farm a bit of relics no worries just don overfarm. just get main stat and then go back to farming traces no big deal

Am just focusing on light cones and traces atm and prepping for post-equilibrium quest. If I'm done with those before 50, which I probably won't be, I'll do relics. I'm planing on doing relics post 50 tho. At least a few 5* peices.

honestly i'm not going to farm relics until late 50/maybe even post 60. getting 8 characters to max ascend, fully traced, and then start preparing for the next equilibrium level leaves me with almost 0 trailblaze power and fuel to use for relics. i finish 4-6 characters before the next equilibrium level is ready.

Trace drop increases by 50 to 130% on TL 50 just because of the chance for purple tho. but they barely change on TL60

It's a mistake not to farm for any relics.

You need to cobble together at least a 2 piece 5* set (and complete the set with 4*), then level it up to a minimum of 9 to be reasonably effective. That takes a lot of relic exp, so there's no harm at all in a bit of relic grinding.

What you absolutely should not do, is synthesize relics, which is a massive waste of relic exp.

I'm at Trailblaze lvl 59 and my only regret so far is synthesizing 8+ quantum chests, to try to get a crit piece for Seele. In the end I got a 5* crit piece from a random drop, but the 4* chest I used beforehand was fine.

TB 45 and I haven't used any fuel yet and just slowly leveling traces and characters with the tb power that generates over time. It's excruciatingly slow but there's nothing else to do and I don't think it's worth using fuel just to extend how much I can play.

i dont get people that say this. you cant beat the content u have by not farming relics.. and the curve from trailblazer lvl 40 to 50 with no quest its gonna take u ages and so if youre just pre farming for traces then you wont have enough dmg to beat the current forgotten halls

It's pretty hard if you don't farm relics tho. I have 2 lvl 60 teams but can't completely clear forgetten hall because their relics are bad lol. At least leveling good pieces to 6+ is important. Characters really need them to function or simply not get nuked unfortunately

At least at higher TB. Simulated universe gives you free energy for relics. Unfortunately that is only once a week. Still nice tho

personally, i'm currently trailblaze level 50 and I farmed tons of relics but i prefer the power that relics give u because now that my seele and yanqing are amply built, i can focus on levelling my talents until i hit TL 60 in which I can revise my builds even further, i think both orders have their flaws but i am content with my path

i hit 50 yesterday and spammed 15 trailblaze powder on lightning set for jing yuan. I got like 80% of the def set and 20% of the lightning. Literal scam....
