Henry Cejudo Single Handedly Ruined His UFC Career

Henry Cejudo lost a split decision to Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. I believe this marks the end of Cejudo's career as we know it. I discuss the massive mistake he made in his UFC career & his callout of Merab Dvalishvili.

It was a very close fight. How any judge could give aljo round 5 should never be able to judge again.

Personally I think he did great, especially since he's pretty old for a bantamweight plus the fact that he came back after 3 years of inactivity and still went to a split decision whit Aljo

I’m a fan of Cejudo I think he’s what Colby fans wish Colby was but I 100% agree.
Sucks too cause he had potential to be a top 10 maybe even top 5 fighter of all time…

I think Henry is great and fun at face offs.

Aljo should lose points every time he's on all 4s

It's crazy cos I genuinely think he would've beat Aljo and Yan in 2020/21. He would've made a lot more if he didn't retire, and who knows maybe they would've let him fight Volk.

Facts! Henry retiring after 4 title wins for a guy that cares so much about legacy was premature

They need to change that knees to grounded opponents rule so aljo cant just hang out on his knees after failing a bunch of takedowns and not get punished for it

250, 000 buys is close to 20 Million dollars. That’s not bad at all. That’s not even counting tickets sells.

I can't agree Joey. Size and the ruleset prevented Henry from capitalising on Aljo being grounded. LIkwise, ring rust was evident early. I am not going to call curtains for Henry until I see him fight a second time. But he is old for a bantam weight that's for sure.

His road back to a title isn’t far away. He’s rank #3 right now, so all he needs is 1 win for a title shot.

He plans n fighting Merab next and Merab is down for the challenge. Idk if he’d beat Merab but if he does he can fight for the vacant belt if Aljo wins and moves up or O’Malley if he wins

Cejudo couldn't do anything while Sterling kneeled down in front of him. That's why Sterling does it.

Stylistically Henry is a nightmare matchup for Merab. If they fight soon, my money is on Henry.

He didnt "ruin" his career but he ruined his pride and self image..he needed to get humbled...i feel like cejudo might as well retire again i cant think of too many "fun" match ups to make..maybe yan? And if he beats yan merab? That would be an interesting match up imo, and would put him back on track if he could get those 2 wins

To me watchin 288, I gave it 3-1 the only clear round Henry won to me was only round 5, maybe round 2, judges still got it right tho,
I think triple c should just go straight to the end goal, up to 145 fight halloway, he’s in a weird spot then go at volk, depending outcome of Yair vs volk, BOOM

Merabs smart he’s down for cejudo but all honestly he won’t do it he’s way too close to it, he’ll sit it out let his hand heal and go for vacant 135 when aljo beats suga, he mentioned it on mma hour same day as cpt Eric interview,

I mean if cejudo decides to stay at bantamweight and merab doesn’t fight him because he’s number 1 contender an waits, what do they do sandhagen vs triple c?

People said he was active the whole time and trained Jones, so it'll be easy work for him. The same people are saying he had ring rust after losing

Henry's career is not ruined yet..
It will officially be over when Henry fights Merab and gets dusted every single round.
That is when his career will be ruined.
Aljo and Merab have the entire Bantamweight division in a tight rear naked choke.. and it's under the chin and it's sunk in deep.
Sean O'Malley who..?

The sad reality for Fighters is that they are aging. As they get older they're getting worse and they're not worth as much. So if you're on top of the world and you're over 30 years old you should probably just take what you can get and then retire when you can't fight anymore. I understand where their heads are at 100%, but being a fighter is different than other types of jobs. I don't think we're ever going to see another fighter retire from the UFC while they are over 31 years old.. I hope not anyways. PS Henry Saputo fumbled the bag. LOL

You high key discrediting Henry, Joey.. your hypocrisy is ridiculous at this point where it just comes off as hate.

Someone needs to make a video on the age brackets for fighters and their prime / seems like
Higher classes can fight longer
