Reimagining the US Seafood Import Monitoring Program
Показать описание
Join us for the third and final installment of the “Reimagining SIMP” workshop series, cohosted with FishWise, to discuss what changes could improve the U.S. Seafood Import Monitoring Program (SIMP), and how to implement those new ideas.
The “Reimagining SIMP” workshops in February and May brought together over 75 stakeholders from the U.S. government, the fishing industry, customs brokers, environmental and labor NGOs, and traceability technology providers to have an open and honest conversation about SIMP. The first workshop explored what a successful traceability-based import control program for seafood could look like and the second workshop explored how to optimize an improved and expanded SIMP. With a comprehensive summary of the discussion and key ideas raised during these two workshops, we ask, “what now?”
Read the Reimagining SIMP reports from Workshop I and Workshop II.
