Hidden expenses. (1) better sand anchors (2) mallet to drive in sand anchors. Practical advice (1) set up Sportbrella not facing into the wind, rather set up with the back to the wind (2) after staking it down build a edge ridge of sand all around and covering the fabric on the ground. A high wind will actually scour this away and tunnel under the brella, but it is easy enough to keep adding sand. ( 3) better sand anchors are 10 inch aluminum nails topped with a drilled, epoxied and colorful streamer golf ball. No more mallet needed (4) Front guy lines never needed if the brella is set up with back to the wind. ( 5) vented brella is better. They get hot when the sun comes out. (6) corkscrew ground stake is hype, normally the brella is used on its side, you just push the point into the sand.I(7) before using it somewhere, set it up at home first and use Fray Check, super glue or stick and seal in each and every place where thread is used to secure the canopy to the frame. This is to prevent unraveling. (8) Turn the carrying case inside out. line the bottom and sides about 4 inches with duct tape or similar product. Then, return it to normal state. The inner lining will ease fitting the brella in the sack and prevent blowouts from wear and tear.(9) putting sand into and emptying sand out of side pockets is more trouble than it is worth. (10) find and use a better type of plastic snap connector for the retaining strap when the brella is closed. You will be glad you did. These things do not last forever, but with care, it should cost you about 5 dollars a year for the eleven years you may get use from one.

well I used it three times. the premier XL. the third time I thought to use it standing. I used two sacks of sand and two stakes, but the wind broke the main pole joint where it is used for tilting. I didn't had it tilt, I had it straight.

I think umbrella's in general does not work the effort and money to have them in a windy beach and take up too muxh space in the car opposite to tents like neso etc which are wind proof
