The depths of the ocean are one of the most understudied areas in the world. Unfortunately, even in the 21st century, we have not been able to study the seabed in detail. It is located, by the way, thousands of meters below the surface of the water. However, this is where the most interesting and terrifying creatures on the planet live. In today's video we are gonna talk about the most amazing living creatures in the depths of the sea. Tell us in the comments, which of these animals would you like to see live. If you have the courage, of course.

Anyone else annoyed of the random clips of other shows and movies that have nothing to do with this video?

They aren't terrible, they're just very well adapted to a harsh environment

Man, where can I get the actual footage without a guy narrating like he’s on watchmojo?

A fascinating, intriguing video, but we could definitely do without all the random clips from sitcoms and different unrelated movies. Just give us the straight content

In the 35 years since I graduated from high school, I have now taken an enormous interest in deep sea oceanography. Would love to go on a deep sea expedition to see all these types of unique creatures, notably the anglerfish and tuberfish on the bottom...that along with a lanternfish and watch a deep-sea vent just to see the chemical reactions. It's too bad now in my lifetime we have only touched less than maybe 10% of outer space and maybe only 5% of deep sea life...and I know I will never see the day or time when these vast mysteries are fully uncovered to their potentials. To live another 100 years and to see this...I would give anything for.

Narrator: Sea spiders use their 8 limbs not only to move QUICKLY across the sea bed...
All the sea spiders in the video: move almost as quickly as dead...

What's your favorite deep-sea creature?
We're really into "Barreleye Fish", which has eyes that can rotate within a fluid-filled shield on its head.
The two big eyes are glowing green inside the totally transparent forehead. Where eyes might normally appear on a fish are actually the barreleye’s nares (analogous to human nostrils). Sounds like from another world? You should check out the barreleye with your own eyes. It's literally jaw-dropping! 😉

0:49 "Forty thousand meters underwater." Now that is one deep spot. About ten times the depth of the Mariana trench, even.

Arachnophobe: I'll just live in the ocean where spiders won't eat me
Sea spiders: *exist*
Arachnophobe: you know what I'll just yeet myself off earth

I’m 30% sure my arachnophobia came from when I was reading a book when I was a toddler and I saw one of those spider crabs. It’s unfortunate how a genuine fear for arachnids can be traced back to a picture of a completely different species. The other 70% is because it’s likely ancestral.

Edit: this video gives sea spider, but I meant sea crab. Although this looks nearly as terrifying.

So...when are we gonna acknowledge that the "aliens" we are looking for actually exist in the ocean.
