Idea of the mod matrix is very nice. I think Arturia is very close to simulate real sound of CS-80... so variations of that old synth (as this one from Cherry Audio or Behringer) are very much appreciated by me.

I dont think it will ever be released. They are definitely enjoying the hype, though.

Mod matrix and FX routing are practically necessary by today's standards. Though analog purists would've been upset by the idea, I think if the project takes too much time and increases cost beyond reasonable level, Behringer should go with *Digital Oscillators.* With today's processors speed, the results would've been fantastic, price much lower than analog circuitry and with added benefits of vast sonic possibilities. Who said the clone shouldn't go far beyond the original! 🙂

I hope they do go for it. The mod matrix on the MicroFreak is very handy. The armchair cork sniffers will have a downer on the VS-80 regardless the same as they did the 2600 so if the lack of authenticity bothers that bunch, who cares? - they're not going to buy it anyway!

Huh? The software VS-80?! Sure, why not … they can just make it an optional addition/window, that you just select/open (or not) in ‘Preferences’, right … ? Would be best to have a more classic form, and a mod matrix as an optional ‘add-on’ (as above) … ?

I’ve bought a few of Behringer’s synths, other that the Pro 1 the other I’ve got and it’s only two others are rubbish. Time to stop ripping off classic Synths now, much rather spend twice. As much on a decent original synth
