Are, the reason for burning the wood is that the process of the heating the wood to extreme temperatures actually releases the natural oil's within the wood itself, causing a natural process that helps to seal the wood from diseases and rot . It's almost like pressure treatment but with the tree's own oil's etc. It's great to see you actually doing it the correct way as the most of the YouTube video's only burn the wood but never bother to brush away the charred bits, so the first time you put your hand upon it you end up covered in soot from the process. As always buddy 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.

I love your brass plaque dude.
It’s the finishing touches that seal the deal. 🤙

Scorching the wood was done by old-timers in Colonial America also, it's quite useful and does work. I did it on my cabin posts.
Good video.

I have nothing to say really, but I appreciate your content, and wish to help with the yt-algorithms.

Hey thanks for the video. Would like to see some follow up footage. How did it look after 6 months? How often did you have to re coat to keep it protected? Lots of companies claim a lot so real world experiments are the only way to go.

Do you have to finish the table with the rubio monocoat or is the burn enough to keep it protected by itself?

Can you do this at a bar height? Any details to consider other than the length of the legs

In your opinion, could I make a completely flat, continuous surface using your DIY biscuit/domino jig? I want to make an art/homework table that could double as an occasional picnic table for my son outside in a covered patio in Florida

Nice video and table 👏 Would you mind sharing where you got the nice metal plate you attached at the end? Very nice touch

Are you worried about the edges of the boards where you couldn't get the Rubio?
