The next Mass Effect game will share several core features with Dragon Age: Inquisition.

I think you're right. 2013 for a teaser, 2014 for footage and previews, late 2014 to 2015 for release. If they rush it, mid 2014 for release.

I can't wait for a ME4! I hope there are character cameos from past squad members and mentions of anything from the previous ME games. I'm definitely interested to see who we will be using for this game.

Hopefully Mass effect 4 will diversify enemy types and behavior more. And i think they should also have "customizeable" melee and mobility (dodges&rolls, cover vaulting etc.) Ex: maybe a certain armor gives you a significant boost in shields, but your dodge is a little less nimble/acrobatic

Oh my fuck, that would be amazing. Although there probably will be no Reapers in ME4, they should have it in a sort of museum in-game... that would be pretty damn cool

I hope in ME4 that there is more choice in character creation and you can choose one of the many races in the ME universe. I know that could make the game more difficult to produce and develop but I think that would give the game much more variety and game replay potential.

I think they're going to do a whole new story with a new character. Maybe fast forwarding a few decades to where mass effect relays are rebuilt but they have to discover new ones. But they're going to face a new enemy in a undiscovered relay system. In the codex it talks about the dangers of exploring through unknown mass effect relays. (first contact war)

Past choices mattered for almost all of the game...characters from ME1 came in depending on who died or not, as well as everyone from ME2 having an appearance to the game as well. The auto dialog wasn't that horrible since Shepard's attitude adjusted to paragon/renegade options anyways. Since this one doesn't star Shepard, we should have access to more races. Idm if it isn't all of them (there are so many you know?) but i wanna try a Salarian in the campaign lol but yea past choices mattered :p

If bioware can mix origins open world and heavy customization with dragon age 2s combat, that game will be sick.

I gotta say that the mass effect franchise is my favorite franchise of all time. :) I'm so stoked for a fourth game!!!

They always said that the trilogy would be Shepard's story and ME3 would be the ending of it. Mass Effect itself has been in plans for a 4th game for 1-2+ years now.

I feel like its been stated enough by Casey Hudson that there is no more Shepherd so you can all stop what you are doing and discuss other story branches they could tell. I for one would love to see Initial Contact and maybe play as a Quarian or Turian maybe battling against earth.

This has always been a thing, all dragon age and mass effect games have shared engines. The same thing is true with fallout and Elder scrolls. It should have no negative impact on either game, and the only positive impact will be faster development time.
