They have lost their protection. College professors CAN be fired for pushing a one-sided agenda in their classrooms. Defending a new law requiring “intellectual diversity” from professors, the Indiana attorney general echoes Florida and asserts that “curriculum of a public university is government speech.”

A teacher is supposed to teach students _how_ think, not _what_ think. The latter is a propagandist and there is no place for people of that sort in any level of education. Period.

Tenure needs to be abolished in all schools. All it's done is make it impossible to fire bad teachers. It's how they can be abusive to kids, especially special-needs kids, and the most they get is "administrative leave." (Speaking from experience as a special-needs kid...)

I retired from the military and went to law school at 50. I went from the INFANTRY in semi-red state Alaska to **deep blue** Massachusetts and the white glove world of law school. The "intellectual diversity" was very lacking. There were a FEW "conservative" profs - but they were universally older and close to retiring. The Wokesters don't hire those that disagree with them.

I cannot tell you how many times I hear the **pejorative** (not descriptor - but said as an insult) about "White men" - or - "men" - or "whites" openly said in my classroom. It was weekly.

My 1L year was 2019-2020. Yea - THAT time frame. There were "certain truths" you did not question. And when 2020 came, the masks of faux tolerance came off.

They have trained these kids, from HS and college, to be little snitch hall monitors who inform on you and they WILL try to destroy anyone who openly disagrees with them. Not all the kids were like that - in fact the bad apples were only a few. BUT - the ones like that were NEVER reined in, and they made everyone else look over their shoulder before speaking - it was freaking mind-blowing at how afraid everyone was to present a counter narrative.

Odd how universities can make a professor's commitment to diversity based on race a factor in hiring, tenure and require it to be woven into the content of their courses, but they balk when they are asked to commit to diversity of viewpoint.

Professors should stick to the subject matter of the class, keep agendas and politics out of the classroom. The universities should do away with courses and degrees that provide no pathway for students to obtain gainful employment.

It's the students who have the right to freedom of speech, not just professors. Freedom of speech includes the right to hear various viewpoints and to express your own views free from pressure from professors who want to propagandize you.
