1971 saw my grandfather shoot a bear with an old 6 gauge double barreled shot gun near point blank. 800 lbs he said. Had come around the cabin once too often so he considered it a threat. The power of that gun frightened me. I was just a small kid. Pushed my 6'5" 255 lbs grandfather back a bit. There was nothing recognizable as a head. He told me that gun could cut a 12 inch wide tree in half. From what I saw I believed him. Taught me to be wary of bears.

The fact that people can’t comprehend something as basic as wildlife control is astounding. Even someone simple minded should be able to understand the term “check and balance”. Life and death is apart of nature and will always be apart of nature. The check and balance system makes sure that this cycle is able to continue without disruption so that chaos is unable to occur. For example, if there are too many predators in the wild, what do you think is going to happen to all the prey? Obviously the prey will have a huge decline in population and that will directly affect predators as they won’t have anything to eat declining the predator’s population too. This is why every animal that you take home from a hunt gets recorded so that we know if we are still able to hunt these animals in the future. Hunters don’t just hunt because they are “psychotic” but because we care about the environment. Please educate yourself before you start bashing hunters because of your lack of knowledge. Thank you.

Edit: I totally understand why someone would choose not to hunt and completely respect their decision. Some people just love animals and I totally get that. However it only becomes a conflict when you start spreading hate. If we as a society learned to mutually respect one another and educated ourselves, we wouldn’t be having these conflicts. People are allowed to have different views without it being negative.

Great stuff. Dead bears save 50 moose, elk, deer caribou. You shoot one through heart and they still go for 10 seconds before dieing. They can do alot of damage as they die.

Watching the bullet displace the air as it travels to the target is crazy. I never shot a gun before but the more I watch them on YouTube the more I want to go down to my local range and learn how to shoot
