Doing 70% of my portrait pics with the 135GM, the rest with the 24GM, love em both so much :)

I’m new to the hobby and just begin to understand the button on cameras. So it’s fair to sa that I understand maybe 50% of your lenses videos… but I love your channel so much I watched all of them anyway 😂

Jason, love your work and videos - please keep them coming! Question, running a Sony A7iii - looking to get an 85mm prime, choice over a new Sony FE 85mm f/1.8 (on sale at $499) vs a nice condition used ZEISS Batis 1.8/85mm for a few hundred more? I know, tough one right!?

Hey, I met that model 2 years ago at Anime NYC. Didn’t expect to see her in this video.

Super curious on that phone monitor experience. Would love to see a video about that set up. Before that comes out, what does it take? The phone model, cable, apps etc. to set it up working like that.

Looking for an 85, I’m really excited for the new 85mm GM II lens from Sony! The improved optics and build quality look fantastic, and it’s great to see continued innovation in the G Master lineup. Can’t wait to see how it performs in real-world shooting!

A lot of talk, but no mentions of HOW sharp the new Sony 85mm 1.4 GM II are, it is sharper than the Sony 135mm 1.8 GM ! I got the Sony 85mm 1.4 GM II and I can highly recommend it. Last year I got Zeiss Batis Sonnar 85mm 1.8 T* used for US $550 (taxes included) in excellent condition, the Zeiss 85mm Lens is light and easy to handle, it is a joy to use and I can highly recommend it.

Can you suggest combination lenses with this lens

So no one is going to talk about Sigma in this conversation? That's realistically the main competitor to this lens.

Need to get this off my chest! I’ve heard so many respondents complaining that this lens was not a 1.2, vs 1.4.

I purchased the 50 1.4, (not the 1.2) because it is smaller, easier to get in and out of a bag quickly and easier on your arm if you’re shooting for a full day. Feels great on the A7rV, and ok on the A7cR. For me, cost was much less of an issue because it’s a tax deduction and most important, I make money with my gear! Focusing close in wide open the bokeh at 1.4 vs 1.2 is almost imperceptible. The pro lenses are noticeably sharper. A pro will notice. 99% of clients won’t give a rip.

Just took delivery of the 85G II. Had been shooting with the 85 1.8 for almost 6 years and didn’t feel that this pro-level lens would be worth the extra $$. The difference to me is like night-and-day from the 1.8. Great for portraits at F4, aesthetically pleasing (but not overused) at 1.4, and efficient when shooting products at F11/16. Glad I made the decision and so pleased Sony didn’t go for the 1.2 variation of this lens.

I like the f/2.8 enough, I won't be selling my 70-200 GM II anytime soon for this guy :)
