not everything that is sold in thrift shops is 2nd hand, some are phased out/discontinued or old stocks. I can say this as a fact because I worked in NATASHA warehouse and that is what they do to some stocks, they sell shoes for more than 60% discount and so as with apparels and bags.

Just say "hi ate ganda or kuya pogi" with a smile the moment you start to ukay. That's +10 tawad pts already.

There are Chain Thrift Store here in US. The most popular are Goodwill and Salvation Army. Sometimes I go there and find brand new clothes in a very cheap price. Mostly, I send it to PH for gifts and for sale. I don't know if there are department stores which sells brand new authentic signature items like 40-50% off there in Korea. I usually buy those typical products like Nike, Adidas, CK, MK, Guess, Coach, Lacoste, DKNY, Converse, New Balance, Under Armour, RayBan, Burberry, etc and I get it 20 - 40% off because I have a discount card. Famous chain stores are Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshalls, Norstrom, and Burlington. I don't usually buy full priced items.

6:31 We Filipinos love to buy clothes eventhough it's fake. I personally don't look at the brand, if it's suit me and its price is reasonable. I will buy it. HAHAHAHAHA 😂😂

The thing about these types of markets is even though you know it's fake you just can't help not buying things that are so pretty yet so cheap. Even if it does not last as long as the authentic ones it will still serve its purpose which is to make you look good and/or to make you feel good about yourself. And if you take care of it some might actually last very long. Portion of my clothes are from Ukay ukay. My friends always compliment how luxurious I would look on them even tho I only bought them for like 10 pesos per item (whenever the stores do a massive sale before restocking). My sister is good at sewing and helps me fix or costumize them and is actually artistic enough to make good old looking clothes look new and even better. Even though we can afford expensive and branded clothes and even if our father insist that those are the ones we should buy (he believes it's more worth it in the long run) we will still go to ukay ukay, it just became a part of us haha.

When I was a kid they are selling real and authentic clothes and stuff in Baguio and now it's changing Most of them are selling imitation products 😅 So me and my mom would go on every shop(to find the cheap and original ones) and I don't know how she can remember the shops that we went

Still expensive though 'coz in the Philippines in any ukay ukay store you can only purchase those, ranging from 50 to 100. Anyways you have a wonderful taste♥️♥️♥️

I love going to ukay2. I think 90% of my clothes I bought it from ukay2 coz I'm from Baguio City. 😉 Even if we go to Japan, we always go to 2nd hand stores. If you just have the patience to roam around and scrutinize you can really find good stuff, slightly used and even brand new. More so if you know original branded clothes/stuff just like jessica and sylvia. 😍😍. One of my bucket lists is to go to S.Korea (Seoul, Busan, Jeju particularly) so if I'll have the chance, I'll definitely visit the thrift stores there. 🙏🙏

I'm same with Jessica & Sylvia when it comes to shopping. I don't really shop a lot and I don't care what brand I wear or if it's brandless 😂 I only even buy shoes or bags if malapit na masira. I sometimes question myself if I'm really a girl. I don't go out all the time anyway. I don't have anywhere to wear more clothes. I miss going to Ukay too 😁

ukay-ukay probably came from hukay-hukay or to Dig. ukay-ukay is usually a second hand RTW ( ready to wear) clothes. usually imported clothes.

That Burberry item reminded me of the Burberry dress that I bought at our town's ukay ukay center for only Php 30. It was definitely a steal!!
