FRESHMAN DORM MOVE IN VLOG 2023: at Ole Miss (Crosby Hall)

Moving into Crosby Hall at Ole Miss! I moved my sister into her freshman year dorm and it was so fun!!! we went ALL OUT and spent so much time on this dorm - but it was so worth it. Everything is linked below, stay tuned for my apartment move in vlog because my mom's taste doesn't stop here!

IF YOU'RE RUSHING A SORORITY: I partnered with my friend who is an Ole Miss alum (and was Pi Phi’s Rush Chair) and we created a Sorority Rush Prep Course! I want to to help prep girls to be their best self during rush! It has so many resources and videos (questions to ask/how to answer, do’s and don’ts, how to rank, plus the best ways to support your daughter).

As a mom who moved one of her girls into college this last year, I’d like to relay that it takes freaking FOREVER to get all your stuff upstairs, unpacked, and put away. The decorations are a whole other story. What you can’t anticipate (unless you’ve done this a ton of times) is that this takes an ARMY of people and SEVERAL days. We’re talking like until 1am every day. These girls also did a lot of homework and found all the measurements for every single thing in that room online, or from talking with the college. They had moving team, and all their furniture completely figured out with themes, colors, etc way before arriving at the school. We only had about half the amount of items these girls brought and it still took us two days and several trips to the store to bring everything in, unpack, and organize. The laying on the floor is realistic. It’s very easy to be completely overwhelmed. Sometimes the more people involved, the more overwhelming it becomes. Just wanted to put that out there for anyone thinking this was an easy seamless process. Cause it’s not. It’s hard, you’re exhausted, and it’s a million degrees outside. Even if you plan for a year like I did for my daughter. Props to these girls for doing all that peel and stick shelf liner paper too. That’s stuff sucks to apply. Oh yeah, and NOTHING stays on the walls without drilling into them. If you can, just go ahead and plan on damaging the walls and paying the fees at the end of the year. It will save you a lot of headaches. (Don’t go crazy) but don’t stress over every little thing you try to put on the walls. ❤

Not sure how I got here but all I can say is WOW. That transformation of that dorm room is unreal. When I saw it at first, I was like oh boy look at that bland room but the after part looks phenomenal. Great job!!!

1996 Crosby Hall looked the exact same….brings back memories of sliding down the hill in the back of Stewart Hall. Those were the days! 😂

My roommate and I lived in the basement of a friend's house. I remember the freedom of remembering that I didn't have to report home at a certain time of the night and I can stay up as late as I wanted to study. It was so much fun!.
