I would honestly just like for TCG Konami to be like OCG Konami.

I live in Tunisia and Konami's bad habits hurt me the most. Imagine being a student and want a 100$ deck but you'll have to pay 350dt for that deck

I wouldnt be surprised if Konami is avoiding importing Rush Duel if only for the fact that its more heavily marketed towards children, meaning it would open them up to some kinda class action lawsuit in relation to child gambling.

Its also frustrating because OCG regions have stricker gambling laws preventing the insane stuff we get in the TCG, while also having communities that are SIGNIFICANTLY less willing to let Konami's behavior slide. I mean i regularly encounter people that get UPSET when a card powerful card gets printed and its NOT exclusively Secret/Ultra Rare only like what, if anything we should get what the OCG does and have every card multiple rarities of the standard 5 (Normal Rare Super Ultra Secret), hell we dont even get stuff like Parallel Normal Rare variants of normal cards its awful how much variety we lose.

Seriously i have never had someone give a good reason why we SHOULDNT get every card in a pack always available at Normal rarity at the same rate, increased rarities should exclusively be for collector value, NOT for making the game less accessible in the second hand market to trick people into buying more packs.

I started proxing in yugioh because i honestly wanted to have decks to have fun, and buying like.... 12 copies of infinite impermanence / ash blosson is kinda of a terrible idea. Also in latin america the game is extra expensive because vendors dont sell in TCG market price, some of them search the more expensive market price and even them charge more because "the card is hard to find" Zeus Ultra rare is a 50usd card

in the early days of our community in Dubai, I allowed the use of OCG cards in any event I hosted as long as the card is released in the TCG, this helped many budget players being able to play with the best META cards.

Thank you for making this, I hope one day we can have it at least as good at the OCG players.

The current print quality is also outrageous. Cyberstorm Access has been one of the worst examples yet. The silvering and miscuts makes the cards look like they've already been played excessively for many years right from the booster pack.

Convince your local game store to run heart of the underdog formats. You can still support them by buying in every week, and buying card sleeves. Just use your jank that you get off of sets.

It's painful when even a rogue deck can set someone back enough money equal to a brand new game. A lot of my friends that either haven't played or used to play Yu-Gi-Oh! have told me that they would always prefer to play physically with the cards than through simulators but when even a non-competitive deck still usually costs too much, without even getting into staples, it chases them away... I want my friends to be able to enjoy this but until Konami actually releases cheap entry points, without kicking the player in the teeth somehow, that wont happen...

True story: I stopped buying boxes because out of the last 5 boxes I ever bought I only got secrets from 2 boxes. I only buy singles now and are willing to wait for reprints if the prices are too high.

I hope that the "non-sponsored, PR unfriendly" creators like you and House of Champs eventually get together and use your reach to make these issues as widespread as possible. For years Konami TCG has spit on the player base with lies (remember the "we don't short print" stuff?) and outright predatory practices, while reducing their products' quality as a whole. As individuals, we can just do so much. But if we can rally together behind a group of creators with a wider reach, we can really organize and consolidate demands and actions. As everything in life, we're stronger together.

Stop buying product is the only way for them to listen.

The Wild Survivors card list is a big reason to do something. Putting 7 out of the 10 URs of the set as Vanquish Soul cards when that deck only was supposed to be a Tier 2 at most deck is disgusting and blatant price fixing. All other deck builder packs before hand (or at least the ones I can remember) have the UR ratios at 3:3:4 per deck theme included in the pack. This ratio is 1:2:7 which is already bad, but it gets worse when you look at OCG deck lists of Vanquish Soul and see that on average 17 copies of the cards that are UR in TCG are ran. This time in YGO legit is making me want to quit the game because as you pointed out, Konami does not care in the slightest about the consumer base unless they start not buying the product, which will take an act of some deity in order to happen. I feel sorry for people who wanted Vanquish Soul cards because now they're probably going to have to shell out several hundred dollars for a deck that's not even the 3rd best deck in the format.

It's crazy to me more people don't do what you recommend. They're insanely simple choices that don't even have the slightest strain on your wallet if you really wanted to try out Yugioh with no effort whatsoever.

I'll admit though, I play 95% retro formats & personally I like my decks to be authentic and have no proxies, but at least if I'm buying a bunch of expensive cards I know that'll mostly hold their value in some way shape or form, unlike the overpriced modern cards that, without question, will get reprinted eventually and lose value.

We need to be treated like OCG, they have common Accesscode for example and many more cards that have low rarity and high rarity. Putting generic cards behind a massive paywall is unfair, they are treating TCG like trash.

should boycott the new set where they made the only fuckin archetype anyone even cares about have SEVEN ultra rares, in a SIDE SET LMAO

as someone from the balkans(so pay wise the third world) it's so hard to justify actually playing yugioh, which I genuinely love. When I'm a student that barely makes ends meet and when the average salary here is around 400-500 euros, how am I supposed to play decks that cost THE ENTIRETY of my months salary

I think I've def been part of the problem by buying display boxes in hopes of getting something cool. Sometimes it's just fun and nostalgic to open a ton of card packs.
However, I definitely see how that plays to the gambling side of konami's product model. I've been eyeing some proxy cards for use in my decks (all non-meta/ GOAT) and will opt for that route in the future.

Spread this message further.

Also, just because Konami isn't becoming as greedy and stingy as Wizards of the Coast doesn't excuse them. They're still greedy themselves, just not as bad, which is still bad.
Sure, they won't do that one and only print of The One Ring, but that's not good enough.
