People who claim that he's shit have no clue about football. He played a massive role in Ajax's semi-final CL run. He already proved his worth by scoring important goals and providing assists. And yes, I agree, he can look clumsy sometimes, but he's really efficient, calm, intelligent and doesn't overthink the game (like Rashford does). United is just a poorly run club, and VDB didn't get a real opportunity (more games in a row) to prove himself. United need consistency, and Donny showed at Ajax that his performances were consistently solid.

He needs to play as a n.8 in a 433 system. As an alternative to Bruno and Pogba (or Tielemans or Bellingham if Pogba leaves next year) with a pure CDM (as Rice) behind them.
So next year we need to buy 1 CDM for sure and 1 CM if Pogba leaves.

We all know his undisputed quality yet he doesnt play a minute even if scotty cant play. I hoped that ragnick will change that but it seems he is treated the same way like under ole. I dont know why managers hate him that much but I hope he leaves for loan and come mes back If ten hag arrives (if he deosnt then just sell him I cant watch him sitting all season long). Celtic fan here. The odd drag back and pirouette aside, he's nothing particularly special. A few nice through balls and a bit of grit. File under competent. Lacks flair, speed, finishing.
