Smile and say “cheese” because we made it out to Milwaukee, Wisconsin as our next Midwest roadtrip destination! We may or may not have overspent at our previous stop, so today we'll be taking you along to explore the best things to do in Milwaukee on a budget (or the best things to do in Milwaukee. We’ll stop to check out Milwaukee Pierhead Lighthouse, Milwaukee Public Market, and the Milwaukee Public Museum - all of which can be completely free! We would highly recommend visiting Milwaukee in 2022 on a budget (or not on a budget, either way it’s great) as we found it to be one of the best Midwest cities to visit. Great free suggestions 😍 we have not explored Milwaukee yet!

If you go, just be aware that the museum as a whole is not free. That awesome skeleton is in the entrance so you don't have to pay for that. If you're not going to the museum proper, you can duck across the street to Milwaukee's Central Library. On Wednesday's and Saturday's there are free tours of the green roof. There is also a free self guided tour of this incredible building.

If you're lucky enough to visit Milwaukee in the last weekend of September, there is a two day event called Doors Open Milwaukee. Usually between 120 and 140 buildings, businesses, and spaces around the city open for free tours. It is September 28th and 29th this year, and they announce what buildings are part of it in just one week. I can't wait!
