although it's not Christys song either there's very few men out there who can sing it better than the great Christy moore... no disrespect meant to jimmy murphy there either just my own personal opinion, but in my personal opinion i think this cover by Mr. Nutini tops them all, the raw rasp and passion combined with the way he chooses to play the song by himself, also to who ever shouted right as he started to play 'gwan pauloooo' thank you for giving me goosebumps and chills up my spine every time i listen, personally that's what made it for me, the crowd goes absolutely mental when they realise what song it is, thank you again paulo, jimmy mccarthy, christy moore, the 3Olympia Theatre, warner music Ireland and that brilliant man who i shall call the 'gwan lad' who shouted at the start for giving us possibly the best ever live performance of one of my favourite irish folk songs ever, its going to be hard to ever top in personal opinion that is 😂
