Dallas is an American primetime soap opera that aired on CBS from April 2, 1978 to May 3, 1991. The series revolves around the wealthy and long-feuding Ewing family in Texas, which owns the independent oil company Ewing Oil Company and a cattle ranch in South Fork. The series originally revolved around the wedding of Bobby Ewing and Pamela Barnes, whose families were sworn enemies. As the series progresses, Bobby's older brother, oil tycoon J.R. Ewing, the show's breakout character, whose machinations and dirty dealings become the show's hallmark.When the series ended on May 3, 1991, J.R. was the only character to appear in every episode.
