I served 8 honorable years to my country. A day by day, I get why the Vets at the Hospitals feel the way they do. You really do sacrifice much more than you bargained for. Its kind of hard to look back and see how many of my old freinds did not make it this far. Some died in war, while others met a fate right here on the American soil.

I miss them alot. I really do.

Happy veterans day everyone. I have a story to share: My father and I took my Vietnam War veteran grandfather to Washington D.C. a few years ago for the first time for him to see the Vietnam War Memorial Wall. He got drafted in the late 1960s and he got injured by shrapnel from a land mine (in addition to getting shot), so he got sent home and received a Purple Heart. However, 6 of his buddies didn't make it back home, so before the trip he made a list of all of their names and where they were located on the wall. As he found each on the wall, he got very emotional knowing that he managed to come home (though injured), get married, have 3 sons, and live another 50 years, but 6 of his friends didn't.
