What is Projection Mapping?

Projection Mapping is the art of using projectors to map light onto any surface, turning common 3D objects into interactive displays. We then use motion graphics and creative coding to display highly engaging or immersive content, essentially replacing the surface of the object.

Hi can you please tell me what is the difference between 3d projection and 4d projection?

Why cant the film be pre distorted according to 3D surface and then project conventionally. Or am i right that normal conventional projectors are only used and projection mapping is actually just a way to distort and fit the video to the surface.
