If a bulldozer was made to grade going backwards they would've put the blade behind it

One reason Back Blading isn't recommended is the bottom of the blade doesn't have a case hardened cutting edge, so your wearing out the blade skin. Having said that, Back Blading is quite acceptable in some circumstances. Anyone who argues that, has never had to pull material away from an area where you can't move forward.

backdragging is great for some cases as you said ..but im not expert, i just sit in a d9 cab and make vrooom vrooom sounds 😂

Backdragging saves you a lot of time when working in a landfill. Especially for the saftey of end dumps.

I use the back of the blade when I was grubbing why not. I don't have much time on a dozer but I don't see anything wrong with using every part of that blade if possible.

Hey bud im newvto these i run a 1150m dozer when i put into float mode like push all the way forward it goes into a mode were its level well when i put it into that it goes good for 1 foot then digs deep whats csuse of this please and thank u any teachings be really appreciated take care godbless

I’ll back drag for the scrapers in a cut when needed….no time to turn around….2 guys that taught me to run cat both over 40 years in a cat. Plenty of times to back drag where time is critical. Remember they pay you to be efficient in these machines. All these “top” hands just remember keep learning

Backdraging has a place you start going and jam the blade down pick up pull the dirt back in the hole and restart your push...

A dozer blade is desinged to push fowards not backwards.

Guess the blade needs to be sharpened every now and then😅

That's funny bc with a dozer blade you would always push in forward and pull in reverse 😅

You’ll only want to use it in reverse. Well son. Of course in sand and in above 0. Or in yanky terms 32. You can use “float “ which obviously you don’t know the term when you can use it. Not just on a sandy beach in reverse

You dont want to make it a habit the should build the blade for back drag wares that back of blade out fast

Those blade are not made for back dragging
A good operator does not back drag if you can blue top with a dozer like myself then your good no back dragging.
They will never be good operators if you teach them to back drag

I'm 65 I got 34 years 35 years in heavy construction mostly dozer operator. I'm here to tell you back dragging is for dumbasses who can't actually grade with a bulldozer. But it's your video you can justify it anyway you want to. But for us older dozer operators back dragon is for dumbasses and it wears the blade out a lot quicker not to mention the bolt nuts on the back of it makes it hard to change The cutting blade. But you justified anyway you want to.
