Segovia is home to many historic treasures, such as a famous Roman aqueduct that is so ancient it is hard to believe it's still standing. The 2000 year old watercourse, which looks like a victorian railway bridge, divides the city's central plaza. Viewed from above, it appears impossibly slim. However, the Romans built it to carry cool fresh water from the surrounding hills into the heart of the city. Along this narrow stone channel is one of the best preserved Roman aqueducts found anywhere in the world.

It can still be used today if maintained properly.

The aqueduct of Segovia is really impressive, something unmissable for someone who visits Spain. Its presence speaks for itself of the genius of its design and construction. As an Andalusian I have always been very proud to have these wonders so close, without forgetting other monumental cities such as Mérida. Curious fact, many sections of the sewage system that my hometown (Seville) currently uses are still from Roman times.

@National Geographic UK That full episode is pretty good, but you have to improve the satellite image mosaic of Spain, because it has nothing to do with the reality (Sentinel-2, Landsat and MODIS images...). It is true that our climate is semi-arid in the centre and south, but we are not a desert.
