Confession's of a Mother's Heart

WELCOME!
Here you'll find content not designed to help save you time and money nor many ways to just live a more simple life. You might find things like life hacks, organizing tips, insights into motherhood, some simple DIYs I've stumbled upon, maybe even more. Mostly, you'll hear about the last 8 years of my life reflections about life as a mother, homeschooling my kids, and the day-to-day struggles that I find myself in as a wife, mother, entrepreneur and child of God.
I've found that "the best part of waking up is with Jesus in my cup") Yes, that is a play on the old "Folder's in your cup" commercial, but I had to redo it. It's SO much better. So, grab a "cup" (your life) and fill-it up with Jesus and my "Confessions" and join me as I share reflections of my most past and recent dealings with the amazingly crazy changes affecting our family in the last two years!
WHO IS SOCORRO?
Hey! I'm Socorro Gill the author of "Confessions of a Mother's Heart" and founder of TLC Squared Ministries a Colorado based nonprofit that endeavors to "Re-create Homes One Family at a Time through TLC" since 2017. Lately I've been thinking that I need to re-create my own family, one member at a time!
I'm a homeschool mom, turned blogger turned and locally owned business owner of an elite estate sales company (not really elite, it just sounds good saying it ;-)
I live in Colorado with my husband, our three girls (Gwen, 19, Abigail, 16 and Bethany 14) and our three pets, Ezra, our chocolate lab, Glenda, our fetching short hair tabby cat, and our rabbit, Christopher. For the first few years as a mom, with just one kid I didn't feel I struggled with lots of things that I know many people like to pursue: organization, keeping a tidy home, productivity, budgeting, and so on. But adding two more kids and moving a few times and experiencing severe Postpartum Depression and Anxiety after my third child in 2008 have taught me some really valuable lessons that allow me to not focus so much on being more productive, keeping a tidier home, or being more frugal. Although, I'm all for that!
I've learned the hard way that I in order to be a healthy, life-giving person and bring life into my home as a homemaker and business owner, I need to spend time with my God first. Then I can pour into my kids, be a better helpmeet to my husband and be available to my awesome employees.
Having a tidy and organized home and meals in my freezer, ready for me when I need them is great. But what's more important is that my children know that I am there "for them" not against them. And even more important to me is that my husband trusts me to not only overspend our budget on frivolous online or instore purchases because I was "therapy shopping". But, that "his heart trusts me...to do him good and not harm all the days of my life" (Proverbs 31:11-12)
On this channel I would love to share the confessions of my heart as a homemaker, homeschool mom, business woman and uniquely and wonderfully made individual so you may learn from my mistakes and have hope that IF you or someone you suspect has any level of depression as they live their life, especially postpartum depression with anxiety, you to can find hope in Jesus and the people he puts in your life to lift you out of any darkness you're experiencing!
Enjoy the channel!
