Loving This Crazy Hybrid Fruit Stand Antique & Vintage Mall!

It's harvest time, and we're picking fresh fruit and vintage heirlooms at this unusual fruit stand/antique mall combination in the orcharding town of Selah, Washington! We're looking for juicy deals on everything from costume jewelry to Blenko glass, vintage kitchenware and antique beaded gauntlets and moccasins, and this surprising hybrid store has them all.

We walk past a cool 1919 Ford Model T delivery truck full of spiced cider as we head to the back, where a sizable antique mall section lurks behind rows of produce and specialty foods. A display of vintage bridal items, a space with great regional tins and crocks, even a newly opened attic with old western wear lure the unsuspecting into a realm where antiques are the buy-word! Unusual specialties here include quill clothing made by Native Americans, a Montana woodsmith-carved fish table, even a collection of Marilyn Merlot vintage wine bottles (they have a liquor license because they sell newly bottled Washington wines as well).

From antique Staffordshire figures to Venetian glass fish and bird bottles, there's so many surprises in this strangely interesting antique venue! Some pieces have regional appeal, and regional rules...we talk about when it's okay to own Alaskan marine ivory, why Skookum dolls originated here and why we think we need to take a peach smoothie with us! We buy a fun bar sign and tray, contemplate a cool 1930s lighter and leave with a bag of fresh goodies for our trip down the road to another fun collectors' venue.

The man heard your voice! That’s how we found you at the Springfield Extravaganza! 😅 You have a very mellow, easy to listen to tone! Very distinctive!

The linens hung, perfect. They also had them on velvet hangers so they stay put. Thoughtful seller! Love to follow you!

I visit this mall regularly as it is on my work route. Thanks, George, for showing it to the world. Now, when will you "showcase" Yesterday's Village next door in Yakima?

I have an 1848 Guide To the Savior book. I'm not religious, but I love that it's 176 yrs old.

Enjoy your video, as usual! nice to learn so much from you, as opposed to just watching someone buy stuff. Cool coincidence today. I was sorting some of my boxes of treasures. One of the items I had was an old Sanitary cheese keeper. I've never seen one on a show before, so was fun to see you point it out. Thanks for taking your time to show us so many treasures!

I went yesterday. It has a dedicated highway interchange and a very extensive variety of produce. Not just apples. They have vintage clothes, unfortunately people are too large to fit them these days. I got a reality check, haha. It was a nice experience. I spent 150.00. Came home with a ton. So much better than the other shopping around there. I live in Cle Elum so we go east to Ellensburg, or on to Selah and Yakima. Alternately we go west over Snoqualmie pass to Seattle for services we need.

Good evening, George. I spotted a countertop oak display case right off the go. Loved the barrister bookcase the Zane Grey books were in. I had a Gucci cadet shirt in the '80s. Those didn't stay in fashion very long. I have a green kitchen cart like that red one. I got it at a thrift store for $10.00. I have one of the round oak tables, but mine has the rolled Empire feet...not a big fan of the claw feet ones. I learned, from antiques dealers and other research, that the claw feet legs were actually sold separately as replacements, for people that wanted to replace the original rolled feet. I'm happy mine still has the originals. Loved the primitive flour sifter. I'd be more than tempted to pay the $158.00 for it. I spotted a falcon hunt tin, done in red, behind the embroidery piece on the dress form. I have, I think, three of those in different colours. That Victorian display cabinet was fantastic! There were a lot of items there that interested me. Thanks for giving us the tour!

We have an old Coleman stove from my husband’s childhood. I don’t know how old it is, but we used it for years with our kids camping. We also used his childhood Coleman canvas tent. That thing is really old.

You’re in my neighborhood. I literally live just a few miles from here. I’ve only stopped in there one time. We go by it every time. We are on our way to Spokane from Yakima. I’m gonna have to stop sometime.

Thank you for staying awhile with the elegantly-framed cheerful pup🐾,
at 27:09 ...onward;
that handsome 🐾 was as happy as the Poodles, upon the glasses, next.

❤, and appreciate, your humor, however, first/foremost your breadth-of-knowledge. 👍👍

Hi George! No wonder you refer to this shop as one of your honey holes... they have so much variety of terrific stuff! I would be in trouble if I could shop here! Love the sifter, the hand stitched quilt, the porcupine quill items, the native beaded sets, and of course anything glass or carnival glass... yup, a really good share, George! Thank you!

I've been to the fruit stand/antique mall in Thorp several times traveling I90, but didn't know about the place in Selah. Will have to check it out soon.
