It’s not easy covering the aid sector, worth nearly $1 billion and largely shielded from Freedom of Information laws. It’s even harder to get whistle-blowers to talk about how their colleagues may be abusing the trust of those they were meant to help – or earning the trust of victims willing to share their stories with little to gain.
