About 15 lakh spectators saw the magnificent success of the IAF Air Show at the Marina, however at the end of the event, two individuals were admitted to the hospital and five people died, while about 100 people had outpatient treatment at the government hospitals.

I was also one among the crowd. It was a total failure on the part of the State Government. Policemen who were on duty mainly took care of the VIPs. Neither proper drinking facilities nor medical aid for the needy people. No volunteers were available at any place in the crowd. I saw people faint one after another mainly due to scorching heat and large gatherings of people without giving space. Irrespective of the caste, people from all walks of life were affected. After the fair, no shuttle buses were arranged to the railway stations, and the people used to walk from Marina Beach to LIC and other railway stations where thousands gathered to take tickets for further journeys. The court should order an inquiry commission to investigate for a detailed report.
