One of the most fearsome DE in his era. And an even better man in real life.

Watt deserves the HOF and so much more

Watt is so loved in Houston that he can live here for the rest of his life and not have to spend a single dime. I'm not kidding, we love him and everything he did for our city, even my friends who have no clue about the NFL know him and appreciate him. He's straight up royalty in this city tbh and I love that he has mutual love for the team and the city.

Bro, I watched this man play his entire career. In his prime, Watt was A PROBLEM. He should have won MVP in 2014.

As a Steelers fan I was ecstatic to see we drafted his brother, this dude was a beast and it makes me sad that he was injured as often as he was.

Even when he was the enemy on the opposite side of the team, I will always respect JJ Watt. And I will always remember him for his role on the Houston, hurricane relief efforts

People forget his rookie year, when 3 little kids lost their parents and were all hospitalized after an accident. JJ told his people to go take care of their bills while he also visited them and let them know they were not alone. He just said that he heard their story and being new in Houston, he could empathize with being alone. Also swore everyone to secrecy.
If a hospital employee hadn't blabbed, no one would have ever known.

It's a shame injuries played a part in his career. He was a beast on the field and so fun to watch.
First ballot HOF for sure.

As a little girl growing up in Houston everyone and their mom was obsessed with him

Houston Texans fan here - this man was huge impact against any team. Requiring double teams, TE's to block, taking so much attention to one side no matter what side he lined up on. I forever and always will say that he deserved MVP!

Man, JJ Watt as a hockey player would’ve been fucking WILD to see in all the best ways possible.

Watt being a pizza delivery guy makes his SNL skit a lot funnier lol

Houston Fan here! JJ Watt is the one dude I can think of that signs a $100, 000, 000 contract and no one thinks that it was an over pay. Saying he is beloved in Houston is a major understatement. On the field and more importantly off the field, he was the absolute best

I moved to Houston a month after hurricane Harvey and lived there til 2020.. I was expecting absolute destruction but they came together and recovered faster and stronger than I ever could have imagined and the biggest contributor to that was JJ Watt and let me tell you that city absolutely loves JJ Watt.. JJ was so loved in Houston he was Houston.. at any given time anywhere in Houston you’ll look and see at least 1 person wearing a 99 jersey.. the city had some of the most spirit for all of their sports teams of any city I’ve ever been too and the people are great and so hospitable..

JJ’s the reason I started playing football, and I’m so sad he couldn’t get a ring before he went out 😔

8:36 No one, I repeat no one, EVER questioned Watt. Ever. Especially in Houston. He’s a legend and one of the GREATEST defensive players OF ALL TIME.

I am confident that there are a few qbs and offensive coordinators who were very happy with his announcement of retirement. I imaged getting hit by him and all I can think of was a quick and very painful trip to the emergency room. The man was a beast. HOF first ballot for sure.

First ballot HOFer for sure. Just wish he would have won a Super Bowl. He is more than deserving of one.

If his body didn’t start giving out on him, he’d probably be a top 3-4 defensive player ever. 3 defensive poy awards is crazy and that was just the start of his career.

No doubt if he never got hurt, he would've easily been on Lawrence Taylor's level. EASILY
