This is my first time tapping maples. My wife and I just bought some land this year in Bellingham, and I was thrilled to find out that all these gorgeous huge trees can be tapped for fresh Maple Syrup. Let's do this!

I am excited for you. I like maple syrup too. We forget the gifts that nature can give us. We get disconnected. We are used to buying it in a grocery store. It is nice that you can make your own from your property and trees. Nice. :)

That's awesome. How far did you go into the tree with the tap? I have big leaf maples at my place here near Index Washington whoch I tapped last weekend but I didn't see any sap running. Maybe I'm too late...but I read that the sap can run all the way into March. I need to go check them out again today to see if I have any sap now. We tapped birch once and the syrup was excellent.

Nice! Do you have a link for the materials you bought? Is it a kit? Thanks!
