Over twenty years after meeting the World Health Organisation's elimination target, leprosy in Nigeria still remains a public health challenge. The Nigeria Centre for Diseases Control {NCDC} says at least 3,500 cases are reported annually.

For those living with the disease, life is unimaginably difficult. They live in slums and their children are hardly welcomed in schools.
