The fact Diane defended the comment “to shoot Britney Spears” is appalling. Seriously?! Get a grip Diane. Britney is NOT the parent of her fans & a physical threat like that is NOT ok. Period. Britney handled this interview the best she could. Currently, I’m so glad people are understanding her career trajectory with fresh eyes. What Britney said about Michael Jackson, “I just think he needs.. me to call him, you know? He probably needs some friends around him to be honest or, you know?” In my opinion, I think Britney wanted that for herself as well. So far, I’ve read a big portion of her memoir and Britney felt alone and depressed after her break-up with Justin in 2002. While this interview was a year after the break-up she felt alone and depressed and this interview was definitely a breaking point at that time.
