when we take the time to define our terms, we often see that other feelings are completely legitimate when we go off track with our choices, but that we don’t need to allow shame to swoop in and take a seat at our table. Maybe we’re feeling disappointed in ourselves, maybe we’re feeling responsible, maybe we’re feeling embarrassed or frustrated. But we don’t have to feel shame about some thing that is not warranted. And how we can save ourselves from feeling unnecessary shame is by defining our terms and connecting other more accurate emotions to these moments.
You are good.
You are whole.
You are enough.
