Stalking Large Wild Brown Trout (Fishing Was TOUGH, But...)

Fishing a major river's headwaters, the large, wild brown trout living here were quite picky and spooky. But, as the light began to fade, the bite began to turn on and I was able to catch one big brown trout after another on my tenkara fly fishing rod. This was a difficult day of fishing, but a rewarding one as well. Thanks for watching!

That last pool, what a dream! Wish you would’ve got that big one, but man, what a location and beautiful fish!

Looks like a great place to catch some trout! So green and that size of water is just about perfect.

Great video. The secret to your success include good research of streams, the stamina to get too remote sections of streams, and good vision to detect strikes and see flies in the water.

You’ve shared yet another amazingly beautiful trout water. I had spent much of my cold winter afternoon here in the East paging through an evocative John Fielder book about the mountain ranges of Colorado — and missing that state terribly. When — Boom! — your video drops and animates both the mountains and my afternoon! Many thanks, my friend!

I really do enjoy watching these videos Chris! That's some beautiful footage of amazing locations and fish! I got a text from my brother in law that my nephew hooked up on a fish today on a worm nymph I tied him for Christmas. Probably a similar pattern to the waltz worm you were fishing. Any day on the water is a good day! Cheers!

Big fish in a smaller stream. Looked like a nice place to campout in, and fish a few days. Nice film, Chris

Dude.... 🙌🏻 Thank you for another amazing video! Huge sticks of beautiful butter Chris!! On an equally beautiful stream.

Is there a species you're especially interested in fishing for these days? Kind of a bucket list trout?

Not much of a winter angler, impatiently waiting for warmer days in the mountains!

Great video Chris! Stunning scenery and absolutely gorgeous rocky creek, and you captured both with your singularly unique perspective and creativity. Congrats on your perseverance, it really paid off. Those were some real tanks with the most amazing shoulders and black spot patterns. Well done!
