JPDFSigner - Sign PDFs online using smartcards

In this screencast you see how to sign a PDF-document with a webapplication using the JPDFSigner - Javaapplet. This project is an opensource-Ruhr-Universität Bochum - project and free to use.

What happens here? :

Clicking the "Sign PDF" button of the small webapplication as seen in the video will base64-encode a PDF-Document that is stored at the server's filesystem. The base64-string becomes passed through applet-params to the JPDFSigner-applet. The applet starts. There the PDF becomes base64-decoded, loaded and signed using your smartcard. After signingprocess the signed PDF will be pushed to the server. Then the applet redirects the browser (applet closes) to the result-page where you can download the signed PDF and watch the signature.
