As the man explains to the other guy, this tiger was recently caught in Waynad Kerala and most probably a man eater thus this ferocious nature. Not too old but still has the raw aggression against humans.

I believe this is a man-eater. Usually the tigers become man-eater if they have a health condition and find it difficult to hunt prey. Humans are an easier target especially little kids in villages, hence these big cats like tigers and leopards hunt them. This tiger probably has a health issue (like broken jaws/teeth) or is old. Hence he became a man-eater. If it was a different country, he'd be shot dead but india believes in keeping them safe. I know it's a very depressing situation for the tiger but for other's safety he's first put into a cage and then maybe shifted to a larger enclosure. I think that was the case for the man eating leopards for gir national park. I don't know about this tiger tho.
