I tell people when discussing this it's like finding a shadow but not the object that's producing it.

It's amazing how little we really know.

Edit.. to the people saying it's "god"...just stop. I don't believe in a man in the sky. If there's is a "god" why does he let these horrible things happen to little kids?...and that's just the beginning. To everyone else, thanks for the replies.

What if gravity is multi dimensional and exists in higher dimensions.

To extrapolate 96% of the universe from 4% of the information we already know is truly remarkable enough.

Makes me wonder if black holes are both the tap and the drain - it pulling the universe is the vacuum which is causing the expansion while pulling some universe down the drain.

damn guys, you have no idea how curious i am about all this stuff... we basically know nothing about our sorroundings and that's kinda crazy, i mean, how can something like the universe that is everywhere be so unknown??

We dont know what we dont know that we dont know, so probably the percentage of things we dont know in the universe is much higher than 85%

Dude, you think the Universe came from nothing and that life happened by accident. Your level of "don't know" is off the charts.

We're smart enough to know what we don't know. But we don't know what it is. That's pretty crazy. I wonder what we can do when we do know and know how to use it.

“Way back in 2011”
Even as an 03 kid I felt old hearing that for some reason

Nonsense. Measuring the expansion of the universe is one thing.
Comparing it to naive models that don’t really work at large scale to predict gravitational behaviours is another thing.

The incompatibility of the predictions of our cosmological models with the real world is not a proof of a mysterious force or matter that pulls or pushes the universe. It is simply that our models are not robust to scale, and simply fail when oversimplifications no longer work.

Using his words, I would say that the universe is under no obligation to adhere to any laws of physics that a human thought of.

Amazing. To think that "nothingness" between galaxies is actually what drives the universe and with that unknown source of gravity which propably holds the universe together... mindblowing

Scientists found dark matter without understanding what it is. Like seeing a shadow and trying to explain what object created it

amazing, you can measure it but have no idea what it is.
