In my country mixing paint requires a license and is usually done with specific measurements. Is it like that in America? I've seen alot if free hand mixing so im wondering. I could Google but this is more fun

I picked a color for my parents living room that was a pale purple to tie in the emerald green carpet and inherited ruby red sofa. My parents tried it and loved it! Then they used what they had left by adding white paint for an adjoining room. Sometimes, if you do go dark, but white paint to lighten it up.
